Thick Rimmed Trend

From the subways and the streets to the libraries and the law offices, the newest fashion accessory are the thick rimmed glasses. It is no longer just a trend for the hipsters of the times. Whether you're a city corporate CEO or a small town trendsetter, these pieces (in my opinion) are timeless. It is the one accessory that can give your outfit of the day a little something extra. My favorites are with a baggy sweater and pashmina relaxing at a coffee shop or dressing up my LBD with some statement making shoes. This trend is here for the moment, and I'm hoping, here to stay!

Military Trends

This season, its all about Military styles, furs, metallics, and ethereal,
feminine looks. Here are a few of my favorite looks from AKIRA Chicago's fall
fashion show, Folklorique. From September 2010. Enjoy....

Solely Swank

Some of you might be wondering what I mean by "Solely Swank".
I want to focus on being ONLY about fashion..."Solely" and "Swank" is just a
trendy word that was a synonym of fashion. It was unique and is a word that
stood out to me. Using "Swank" makes this blog different from all the other
blogs about the fashion industry.
What I will be doing with this blog is focusing on one line, one look, one
piece from labels and boutiques once a week or more.
My love for fashion extends into not just my passion but into my career. I am
going to school to do Fashion PR, Marketing, and Event Management and
Coordinating.
I had an amazing internship over the summer at AKIRA Chicago.
It is Chicago's Local Boutique and strives to be different and make a name for
themselves as being at the forefront of fashion in the Midwest region. With
tons of shoes, accessories and clothes AKIRA Chicago was so amazing and is now
one of my favorite stores. They are great, knowledgeable people who are super
trendy and super fabulous.
Fashion is a language we can all speak and all understand. Through this blog,
you will see my style and my fashion. With knowing that, you can see into my
life and into who I am as a person. Through fashion we see all people and in
turn, they see us.

Yours in fondness of fashion,
Laura
